BrookStyle is San Diego rapper who began his career in the late 90's working with Malik Bo aka M80.
His first recording was on a remix track from M80 debut album. While working with M80 Brook learned alot
from his peer. With a few implications and encouragement by M80 that Brook should do a solo project he took his advice.
But long after several records with local producers he was not satisfied with the outcome. Shortly his son was born and Brook
made a decision to put
his music career on hold. In 2005 a childhood friend introduced Brook to Mark Cole an aspiring producer from Virginia. They
did not meet again until mid 2007 at a local club. Mark advise Brook
that he still wanted to work with him and that he has some tracks he felt would be good for Brook Style style. By two
recordings into their meeting they were fully aware they had something.
With this nitch emering Brook realized he found what he has been waiting for. He continued to record several more records
with Mark to then put together an album. HE titled it "UNARCHIVED" in his words the
rebirth of West Coast hip hop. Not just for the West Coast but San Diego, where a New West movement is rising for lcoal
rappers.
Brook Style set his unique representation of urban America and social issues unlike his peers. His rhyming ability flushes
throughout
each record on the album with his given gift to tell a complete in story one can visualize intensely. Many response from the
album
has been implied as a 'CALI-CALSSIC' with such hits as "COME UP, ROBBERZ, ALL NIGHT and the NEW WEST ANTHEM
CALIFOYA." This CD is sure to be local favorite as well bi-coastal. Brook STyle has been working on new projects and
currently
in the process of releasing another album in early 2008 tiled "OPEN SEASON." Look out for plenty performances as well
in the Wext Coast and abroad. |
